Oregon Health Care Association (OHCA) is a membership trade organization representing nearly 800 senior care providers in Oregon.
Situation
OHCA sought to modernize and streamline their information systems. They wanted an independent outside assessment of their current systems and insights into the best path forward.
Critical Issues
OHCA’s custom applications were difficult to maintain and didn’t fully meet the organization’s needs. The organization’s information management and integration systems as well as their computing and networking environment needed modernizing. OHCA also was not able to fully utilize their robust data for analysis and strategic efforts.
Solution
Oregon Health Care Association first engaged VIE to conduct an IT Assessment. Upon conclusion of that project, Marc Hallquist was hired as an Interim CIO to lead OHCA’s team through the planning phases of four key projects identified as a result of the IT assessment. VIE helped OHCA select a new Managed Service Provider to support their IT infrastructure. Marc let the client team through selection of a new Association Management System and provided guidance for IT policies, governance, and communication systems.
Results
Marc’s expertise in the IT field coupled with his leadership abilities allowed OHCA’s team to successfully chart a path to strengthen their IT infrastructure and transition from their legacy business system to a new system enabling them to capture and use data strategically. OHCA is now well-positioned to be a technology leader in their community.
