Oregon State University decided to replace their current Degree Audit system with the Degree Works software from SunGard Higher Education. This tool will allow students to easily track their progress toward their degree and will allow advisors and university staff to more efficiently verify that they have met the requirements for a degree.
Through a competitive process, VIE was selected to manage this large complex project. It required eighteen months and involved a large number of functional and technical tasks, as well as training and testing. With VIE’s leadership, the university brought all undergraduate programs live on schedule and within budget. Beginning early in the spring of 2011 students will be able to see exactly where they are on the path to completing their academic goals, they will be able to use the “What If” function to shop for new programs, and they will use the “Planner” process to develop future term class schedules.
