Metro is a regional government entity based in Portland, Oregon. It has the primary responsibility for regional planning, operation of several event centers and environmental issues for the Portland Metropolitan Area. The IT department had undergone several key changes in organizational reporting over the years along with budget cuts. The leadership of IT in the organization was in question.
Metro’s COOÂ hired VIE to provide an IT assessment and to make recommendations from the assessment to best align IT with the business. Metro’s COO also wanted to determine the need for a Chief Information Officer (CIO). VIE’s IT assessment delivered on the goals of the engagement.
Metro made a decision to hire a CIO. VIE helped Metro define the job requirements, identify the proper posting location for the position, and participated in the interview process enabling Metro to hire a strong candidate.
